## Summary

Wolverhampton City Council is spearheading a significant procurement initiative titled "Our Communities Specialist Support Services," aimed at meeting the rising demands placed by Central Government to assist in housing and support services for asylum seekers and other migrants. This open procedure procurement, under UKPGA 2023/54, was conducted with a focus on providing holistic support, including raising standards in the private rented sector and ensuring tenancy sustainment. The tender process has reached its awarding stage with the contracts signed in May 2026 for an initial three-year term, with the potential to extend for three additional one-year periods, not exceeding a total duration of six years. The awarded contracts, valued at a gross total of £1,836,000, will be active in the West Midlands, specifically covering regions UKG39 and UKG31. This procurement falls under the light-touch regime, focusing primarily on health and social work services.

The opportunities provided by this tender offer substantial potential for businesses engaged in the housing, social work, and furniture supply sectors, particularly those with experience in supporting vulnerable communities. Suppliers with a track record of delivering high-quality housing solutions and support services can greatly benefit from the long-term contracts and steady work stipulated under this tender. The requirements set forth in this tender invite participation from both large organisations and SMEs, with a significant emphasis on incorporating social value, making it ideally suited for voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations that focus on social development and inclusion. With Wolverhampton City Council continuing to employ strategic coordination mechanisms to support the evolving needs of migration, this procurement presents a vital chance for organisations to engage in impactful community work and expand their business footprint within the public sector services industry.
