NHS Supply Chain: Food (the "Authority") is issuing this Invitation to Tender in connection with the competitive procurement for the appointment of Fresh Food & Food To Go (the "Procurement"). The Authority is acting as agent for and on behalf of Supply Chain Coordination Limited ("SCCL" or "NHS Supply Chain"). This procurement will include the following Lots: 1. Fresh Dairy and Bakery 2. Fresh Meat, Poultry, Fish & Meat-Free Alternatives 3. Fresh Produce 4. Food to Go - Patient Feeding Solutions 5. Food to Go - Retail Concepts

Fresh Dairy & Bakery

This Lot is for Milk, Dairy, Eggs, Bread & Morning Goods in the following categories: Milk - Fresh & Long Life, Cream, Yoghurt, Butter, Cheese, Shell Egg, Liquid Egg, Bread Loaves & Buns, Baked Morning Goods and Non-dairy drinks (milk free).

Fresh Meat, Poultry, Fish & Meat-Free Alternatives

This Lot is for the supply of fresh meat in the following categories; Beef, Game, Goat/Kid, Lamb/Mutton, Pork, Chicken, Turkey, Meat, Poultry & Game Pies, Offal, Fish and Meat-Free Alternatives.

Fresh Produce

This Lot is for fresh and prepared fruit and vegetables and salads in the following categories: Whole fresh (fruit, vegetables and salads); Prepared (fruit, vegetables and salads) and Par cooked chips / prepared potatoes.

Food To Go - Patient Feeding Solutions

This Lot is Patient Feeding Solutions in the following categories: Patient Feeding Sandwiches, Patient Feeding Salads and Snack Pots.

Food To Go - Retail Concepts

This Lot covers Food to Go products suitable for a retail environments, cafes and outlets within NHS Trusts. This range shall include, but not be limited to: Prepared retail sandwiches, Hospitality platters, Prepared salads, Savoury pastry products, Sweet pastry products, Hot eats, Snack pots and dip pots, Cakes, traybakes and individual sweet treats, Sweet and savoury snack pots, including breakfast pots, Pies, pasties, pastries, pizza products, Frozen desserts, frozen drinks, ice cream, Grab-and-go food items, Hot and Cold Drinks, Bakery products, Paninis and Sushi.

We are seeking to engage with interested suppliers who can supply the Goods detailed in the procurement description. Suppliers can express interest in the opportunity using the following link:

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) 
- Click on the 'Response Form' tab. 
- Answer the question in the Qualification Envelope at 1.1.1 
- Click 'submit response'. 
On receipt of an Expression of Interest (EOI) and Request for Information (RFI), the relevant Buyer may contact you to arrange an engagement meeting. Please note this may not be undertaken with all interested Applicants due to timescales and resource. 
Any communication regarding this RFI will be issued either via the Messages tab on Jaggaer or by the relevant Buyer. 
• 26th November 2025 - 31st December 2025 - Request for Information (RFI) issued, and responses reviewed. 
• 1st January 2026 - 28th February 2026 – Engagement meetings held with incumbent and new suppliers. 
• 2nd March 2026 - 13th March 2026 - Category Team to analyse feedback and input into strategy as required. 
Suppliers can, at any point during the engagement period (up to 28th February 2026) contact the NHS Supply Chain: Food to discuss the proposed procurement by sending a message via the Messages tab on SQ_635. 
There is no guarantee that a formal procurement process will be launched as a result of this early market engagement exercise, nor that any contract(s) will be placed. No remuneration or compensation etc will be paid to organisations who take part in this early market engagement exercise. Suppliers should take part in this process only on the basis that they fully understand and accept this position.
