## Summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a provider for the provision of drugs and alcohol testing services. This tender falls within the public authority – sub-central government category and involves health-related services. The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, with submissions to be made via Birmingham City Council's e-tendering system, In-tend. Interested parties must express their interest by registering on this platform. The deadline for submissions is 31st October 2025, with a contract commencement slated for 5th January 2026, lasting four years with a review after 12 months. The procurement method is open competition, specifically a below threshold notice, thus encouraging a broad participation.

This tender is an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in technical testing and health services to expand their client portfolio by partnering with a prominent local authority. Companies experienced in drug detection and testing apparatus and those with UKAS accreditation for ISO 17025 standards will find themselves well-suited to meet the requirements specified by Birmingham City Council. Successful participation in this process could not only offer a steady revenue stream over the contract period but also enhance the provider's reputation in the public health safety domain.
