## Summary

Birmingham Children's Trust Community Interest Company has conducted a procurement process for the "Targeted Short Breaks Service" on behalf of Birmingham City Council. This process, employing an open procurement method under the light-touch regime, aimed to offer a range of short breaks for disabled children and young people in Birmingham, within the social work services industry category. Key dates include the standstill period ending on 26th January 2026 and the contract period beginning on 1st April 2026. Located in Birmingham, UK, this process is now in the award stage, with several lots having been completed and suppliers already selected for them.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in providing social work services, particularly those with expertise in delivering community-based activities for disabled children. SMEs, as well as larger organisations with a focus on social value and safeguarding, are well-placed to compete in such tenders, given the emphasis on quality and price. The procurement encourages businesses to demonstrate their commitment to service delivery and value for money, making it a valuable platform for those aiming to grow through public sector contracts in social care. The awarded contracts, which include necessary renewals and funding conditions, are vital for service providers aiming to establish or expand their presence in community-based social services.
