## Summary

This public procurement process involves the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as the buying organisation. The process pertains to the award of a contract for the provision of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Consultant services, which fall under the health and social work services category. The procurement is for services at Julian Hospital in Norwich, United Kingdom, and covers treatments for two mornings each week for the duration of the year. The contract is specified under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, demonstrating a focused procurement strategy without a prior call for competition, initiated as a tender and now in the award stage. Various decision-makers, including Dawn Collins and Sarah Wilson, have overseen the award phase, with the contract being signed on 1st April 2025 for a period of up to three years with annual reviews.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare services, particularly those specialising in consultancy for electroconvulsive therapy and related anaesthetic services. Given the specification of no realistic alternative providers and the emphasis on patient choice, firms that can offer high-quality, reliable ECT services are well-positioned to compete. The procurement method employed here favours direct negotiations over open competition, indicating that organisations with prior service relationships or demonstrable expertise in specialised NHS healthcare provision could find favourable opportunities for growth by securing similar contracts.
