## Summary

The Borough Council of Calderdale has awarded a contract for the provision of a Statutory Advocacy Service, focusing on health and social work services. This initiative, located in Halifax and surrounding areas in the United Kingdom (region UKE44), falls under the industry category of public authority sub-central government. It is intended to improve outcomes for service users by providing essential advocacy services aligned with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 2007, and other relevant legal frameworks. The procurement process followed an open procedure under the light-touch regime, with the tender being completed and a pending award stage expected to conclude by 14th May 2026. The contract is to commence on 1st June 2026, with an initial period until 31st May 2029, potentially extending up to 24 additional months.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for growth, particularly suited for large organisations, voluntary and community sector enterprises, and those with significant expertise in statutory advocacy and mental health services. While the requirement for a management presence in Calderdale promotes local employment, the tender encourages integrated collaboration among professionals and stakeholders in health and wellbeing sectors. Business entities with capabilities in knowledge dissemination, community engagement, and offering tailored advocacy services in varied formats during diverse hours stand to benefit greatly from participating in such procurement efforts. With a total contract value of £2,400,000 gross, businesses that excel in service quality and competitive pricing can leverage this opportunity for regional influence and development.
