## Summary

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority has successfully awarded contracts for the ongoing requirement to supply, deliver, collect, and dispose of depolluted end-of-life vehicles, which aid firefighting training across Devon and Somerset. Operating under the procurement method of below-threshold open competition, the contracts cover several geographical regions including Barnstaple, Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton, Torquay, and Yeovil. The authority awarded contracts to multiple suppliers, each designated with specific lot areas, with contracts commencing on 1st April 2026 and extending potentially until 2029. The procurement process has resulted in active contracts within the services category, covering various locations in the South West region as described in the related lots.

This tender presents numerous business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs that specialise in vehicle disposal services. Suppliers such as Newbery Recycling Ltd, John Harland, RPB Vehicle Solutions Ltd, Pylle Motors Metal Recycling Ltd, and GRIST ENVIRONMENTAL LIMITED have been appointed under different lots across the regions. Businesses focusing on demolition services or potentially those offering additional related services could find this an appealing opportunity due to the substantial demand spanning 300 to 400 vehicles annually. With the contracts offering initial periods of two years and options to extend, SMEs have the chance to establish themselves and expand within this sector, fostering potential for robust long-term partnerships with Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority.
