## Summary

Bangor University is in the tender stage for its Minor Works Framework, valued between £100k and £1m (excluding VAT), aimed at delivering a range of project works across their estates. This open procurement, using the Open procedure, invites bids for three distinct lots: Electrical, Mechanical, and Buildings and Grounds works. The contract, expected to be active from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2030, will appoint up to four suppliers per lot. The tender allows electronic submissions via eTenderwales with a closing date for bids on 23rd June 2026, and potential suppliers are encouraged to partake in a competitive process designed to drive value and efficiency in alignment with Welsh government regulations.

This framework provides extensive opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, mechanical, and electrical installations to engage in significant university estate projects, promoting growth and development. The framework is well-suited for SMEs capable of delivering discrete projects up to £1 million, offering a chance to secure repeat work over a contractual period without the need for constant re-tendering. Bangor University’s strategy to model competition through direct awards, competitive quotes, or mini-competitions ensures diverse opportunities for different scales of service providers, encouraging innovation and competitiveness in the supply chain.
