## Summary

Severn Trent Water Limited, in conjunction with Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig, has initiated a public procurement process aimed at acquiring archaeological services to support various utility projects across multiple UK regions, including West Midlands and Wales. The tender, titled "Archaeological Services," is currently in the tender stage and has been open for submissions since 4th February 2026, with a deadline for tender submissions on 2nd March 2026. Bidding entities should prepare for an engagement phase that includes desk and field tasks covered under a comprehensive framework agreement. Key milestones include the completion of the award phase by 1st June 2026, with the contract commencement expected on the same date. This procurement is conducted via an open competitive procedure, designed to attract suitable suppliers by leveraging a flexible and rigorous multi-stage process, including a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and subsequent Request for Proposals.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses capable of providing specialised archaeological services, particularly those with experience in both desk-based assessments and field evaluations. The procurement encourages participation from SMEs, highlighting the project's adaptability to various business sizes and capacities. This framework is well-suited for businesses with a solid track record in delivering archaeological surveys, risk assessments, and compliance reporting, all within the context of supporting large-scale infrastructure projects. By joining this initiative, businesses can secure a role in long-term projects, potentially extending until 2036, thereby enhancing their market position and gaining expansive regional exposure in the UK.
