## Summary

Durham County Council, as the buying organisation, concluded the Lift Fabrication Framework contract with Century Fabrications, specialising in the sector of repair and maintenance services. The procurement process is categorized under a limited competition method, specifically designed for public authority sub-central government, covering areas such as public buildings, schools, and other council buildings in Durham, UK. The contract, signed on 20th October 2025, became effective on 1st November 2025 and will continue until 30th October 2027, with potential extensions up to October 2029. The framework, valued at £180,000 gross, does not guarantee a minimum supply or expenditure but allows for direct engagement without reopening competition under set agreements, including organisations such as Academy Schools and Fire Services in the North East.

This procurement presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses involved in lift modernisation, repair and maintenance services. Companies like Century Fabrications, particularly those categorised as small and medium enterprises (SMEs), would find this framework advantageous given its scope and geographical reach across Durham and neighbouring regions. It opens avenues for expanding service delivery to additional contracting authorities within designated service agreements, potentially increasing market presence and networking with various public service segments such as education, fire services, and housing. Engaging in such frameworks can enhance business portfolios with significant public sector projects and partnerships.

## Notice
