## Summary

The Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust is inviting suppliers to partake in a preliminary market engagement exercise for a forthcoming tender concerning the supply of water and sewerage services, including trade effluent, to its facilities within Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. This procurement is categorised under "Water distribution and related services" and is crucial to ensure compliance with existing standards and legislation for potable water and wastewater services. The current stage of the procurement process is "planning," with the engagement milestone scheduled to be completed by 14th November 2025. Potential suppliers have been encouraged to download the market engagement documents and provide feedback to shape the procurement process through the Trust's e-Tendering portal. The contract period is set to commence on 17th June 2026 and extend to 16th June 2028, with possibilities for renewal until 2031.

This procurement represents a substantial opportunity for businesses within the water supply and consultancy services sector, particularly those specialising in water meter maintenance and consultancy services for waste management. The Trust is keen on ensuring that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-positioned to participate, promoting a diverse and competitive bidding environment. Engaging in this market engagement phase could be fruitful for businesses looking to expand their operations and establish a partnership with a significant public sector client. By aligning their capabilities with the Trust's requirements, businesses have the chance to contribute to a major healthcare infrastructure project, thus fostering growth and innovation in the sector.
