## Summary

The NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board is inviting expressions of interest for the provision of the Minor Hand Surgery Service, as detailed in a tender notice issued by the NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Procurement Unit. This procurement process, categorised under health services (CPV code 85100000), is currently at the tender stage with an initial deadline for responses now set for 31st October 2025 at 12:00pm. The procurement follows the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) 2023 regulations, aiming to establish a community consultant-led service within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent geographical area. The contract for this service, valued at £702,348 annually, is set to commence on 1st April 2026, and providers will need to mobilise fully by this date.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare services, especially those with expertise in surgical procedures such as carpal tunnel and trigger finger release. Suitable candidates, preferably those ready to deliver services under local anaesthetic and meet specific location criteria, will benefit from this growth opportunity in the public sector. The open procurement method ensures an inclusive selection process, encouraging steady business chances even though there is no guaranteed business, as the NHS is offering patient choice voluntarily. Service providers will gain from a 1-year contract with an option to extend for another year, offering a stable revenue stream in the health sector.

Lot 1

The aim of the service is to provide a community consultant-led and consultant-delivered service that treats people identified as meeting the acceptance criteria as set out in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB Excluded and Restricted Policy (ERP) for carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release surgery. If accredited, they must demonstrate how they will meet the relevant service specification, location requirements and fully mobilise the service by 1st April 2026. This response is assessed for compliance, providers will receive confirmation and proceed to contract setup.
