## Summary

The NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) has issued a prior information notice for a planned procurement under the Provider Selection Regime 2023. This market engagement is part of the Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP), specifically targeting the combined access and management for healthy ageing and tackling obesity. The competition, jointly funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and Eli Lilly and Company Limited, offers up to £85 million in grants across the UK, with a maximum of £8 million per Integrated Care Board. The market engagement exercise aims to explore innovative ideas, technologies, and service models to shape future service opportunities in the field of obesity prevention and management. Relevant deadlines include the closing date for market engagement participation on 29th October 2025, with further notifications expected by 1st April 2026.

This tender provides a lucrative opportunity for a wide range of organisations to collaborate with the NHS on innovative health service delivery models, specifically targeting obesity management and prevention. Eligible participants include health and care providers, technology and digital health companies, charities, academic institutions, and innovators. The initiative seeks solutions that offer digital platforms, remote care models, behavioural support, and community-based interventions. Service models must demonstrate scalability, sustainability, and compliance with NICE guidelines, aiming to improve resource efficiency and patient recruitment. Such collaborations promise business growth through participation in long-term NHS care delivery mechanisms, ensuring alignment with local authority systems and addressing health inequalities.
