The tender covers the supply and delivery of various types of prostheses, including full, partial, soft form, leisure prostheses, and bras. Industry category falls under medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products. The tender employs an open procurement method and is currently in the tender stage. Critical timelines include the submission deadline for tender responses on 22nd May 2026, followed by the award announcement period ending on 1st July 2026. The framework agreement is set to begin on 1st August 2026, focusing on a closed type with potential extensions up to 2030, benefiting several health and social care trusts across Northern Ireland.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for business growth, particularly for suppliers specialising in medical devices, particularly breast prostheses. Companies with expertise in manufacturing silicone-based products or those offering innovative solutions in prosthesis design and material will find this tender advantageous. Given the partnership with multiple health trusts and the ongoing framework for additional purchases, businesses that can adapt to diverse service user needs and expand their product offering will be well-suited to compete. The framework enables continuous growth potential by allowing product range expansion and cater to varying patient requirements. Engaging in this tender process presents an opportunity to establish strong business relations within the healthcare sector regionally.
