## Summary

Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council has recently awarded a significant contract for temporary accommodation provision under the framework titled "Temporary Accommodation Nightly Paid Framework". The procurement process, initiated on 5th November 2025, reached its awarding stage by 25th March 2026. This framework aims to provide bedsit through four-bed accommodation units across the UK, primarily focusing on regions, including Oldham. The contracting authority engaged in an open procedure procurement method, resulting in a framework agreement, with the contract period spanning from 8th April 2026 to 6th April 2029, with a potential extension option up to the year 2031. The industry category emphasised services related to letting and residential property. The value of this contract is estimated at £33,000,000, excluding VAT, with service delivery meeting specific health and safety regulations regarding furniture provisions. Key criterion in the selection process included quality, social value, and pricing factors.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for business growth, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in property management, furniture provision, repairs, and maintenance services. Businesses that are socially aware and capable of delivering high-standard temporary accommodation services can benefit from the framework's comprehensive payment structure and recurring temporary housing demand in the region. The framework’s focus on comfort, safety, and high-quality service demands could serve companies that offer innovative solutions to enhance tenant experiences, thus providing competitive prospects for companies in the housing and accommodation sector. Successful suppliers with the ability to meet contractual obligations have the opportunity to contribute to a socially beneficial cause while expanding their operational reach in the public services market.
