## Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is in the planning stage of procuring a Network Detection & Response Solution. This initiative, outlined in the planning stage as a forthcoming tender, aims to enhance the Trust's cyber resilience by deploying advanced cybersecurity solutions. The procurement process is currently under a pre-market engagement phase, set to conclude by 13:00 on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, through a questionnaire available on the Health Family Single eCommercial System Portal. This contract involves network management software services situated in Birmingham, due to commence on 1st March 2026 and potentially extending up to 28th February 2029. The procurement category is classified under 'services' and is above the threshold for public contracts, indicating substantial potential project value.

This tender provides a promising opportunity for businesses specialising in network management software services, especially those adept at offering robust cybersecurity solutions. Organisations that qualify as SMEs may find this procurement particularly attractive, as the lot suitability criteria highlight this as a favourable opportunity for smaller enterprises. The successful tenderer will contribute to the University's strategic objectives aligned with NHS Digital and NCSC guidance on cyber resilience, providing a platform that enables quick and efficient responses to emerging cyber threats. Businesses with innovative technology offerings in cybersecurity, pre-emptive threat detection, and real-time response capabilities are ideally positioned to benefit from this tender.

## Notice

UHB intends to engage a service provider for implementing and deploying a cost-effective market leading Network Detection & Response Solution across its infrastructure. Delivers an initiative-taking approach to cyber resilience in a single cybersecurity platform, providing pre-emptive visibility into security posture, real-time detection, and recommended response to known and unknown threats traversing the Trust network infrastructure. The solution will allow the Cyber Security Team and Network Teams to respond quickly. With such a disparate network infrastructure we need the solution to monitor and understand network activity to provide visibility and strengthen threat detection. This solution will support UHB cybersecurity resilience, aligned with NHS Digital and NCSC guidance.
