## Summary

The Northern Lighthouse Board, a central government public authority, has concluded a procurement process titled "Minor Refurbishment of Dubh Sgeir (Castlebay), Rubha Glas Front, Rubha Glas Rear, and Sgeir Liath," aimed at minor civil maintenance works and the application of protective coatings. The procurement, identified by tender ID ENPR/LLHG/2556, was carried out using an open method below the threshold, facilitating open competition. The works fall under the industry category of civil engineering, specifically painting work, and are located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Key dates included a mandatory site visit on 5 December 2025, and the contract was awarded on 23 January 2026, with the work period set from 9 February 2026 to 19 April 2026. The tender was completed and saw active participation, receiving five bids, all from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with TRAC HLM Limited winning the contract valued at £89,537.77.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in construction, civil engineering, and refurbishment projects to expand their portfolio within a public sector context. The project involves specialised tasks such as the fabrication of ladders and fender brackets, dismantling and replacing handrails and ladders, fixing repairs, and extensive decorative works, which would particularly suit SMEs with capabilities in these areas. Firms that can demonstrate strong project management skills and experience in maintaining operational navigation aids will have a competitive edge. Successful involvement in such government projects can enhance a company's reputation and open doors to future public procurement opportunities.
