## Summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract to KEY PERFORMANCE INTERNATIONAL HEALTHCARE LTD for the provision of elective recovery support services in the domain of dental practice, specifically targeting paediatric general anaesthetic (GA) and general waiting list reduction in Dorset. This contract arises from a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, sidestepping the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The procurement process followed a limited method, finalised without prior publication of a call for competition, and based on a framework agreement. Services are set to be delivered from 15 October 2025 through to 31 July 2026, divided into phases, with Phase 1 valued at £30,800.00 and Phase 2 up to £143,300.00.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses involved in healthcare services, particularly in dental and paediatric sectors, to participate in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access and efficiency. Organisations specialising in dental practice and related services, as well as those capable of providing innovative solutions to reduce waiting times while ensuring continuity of care, are well-positioned to benefit from such contracts. The focus on integration, collaboration, and service sustainability enhances the potential for long-term partnerships, while the criteria prioritising quality, price, and social value offer a comprehensive framework for delivering impactful services within a structured, governed environment. The contract's emphasis on improving access and reducing health inequalities suggests promising prospects for SMEs looking to expand their footprint in healthcare service provision.
