## Summary

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS), an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government, is planning a procurement process for SOC services (Security Operations Centre) aimed at bolstering cyber resilience as per the public sector action plan. This initiative highlights an urgent need for information technology services, specifically centred on managing cyber threats across SPS's corporate networks. The contract notice for this procurement is scheduled for release on 21st November 2025, with the procurement currently in the planning stage. Central to this service is the need for 24/7/365 threat monitoring capabilities, reflecting the SPS's increasing reliance on cloud-based systems. The services are to be delivered in the UK, aligning with both national and federal agency objectives.

This tender offers significant growth potential for businesses specialising in information technology services and computer support consultancy. Companies with expertise in establishing and managing security operations centres, particularly those capable of offering continuous monitoring and threat management, will find this opportunity particularly suitable. Given the robust requirements for cyber resilience, firms that can demonstrate compliance with Government standards and the ability to support public sector cyber strategies stand to benefit considerably by engaging in this procurement process. Winning this contract could establish a strong foothold in the delivery of critical IT services to a key public safety agency.

## Notice

As an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government the SPS is expected that they meet the requirements of the Scottish Government's Public Sector Action Plan around Cyber Resilience. The SPS is seeking to establish a Security Operations Centre (SOC) service to support the monitoring and management of cyber threats across its two corporate networks. With increasing reliance on cloud-based systems and limited internal capacity for 24/7/365 threat monitoring, the SOC service will provide essential cyber resilience in line with Scottish Government requirements.
