## Notice

This procurement is for the Supply of Shoe Gears and Beams for S Stock, London Underground Rolling Stock. Shoe Gear assemblies are required to transfer traction current from the conductor rail to the train. The Beams function is to secure the relevant safety critical materials to the bogie frame or axle whilst providing the necessary insulation to electrically isolate the traction supply current from the rest of the wheelset and bogie structure. Without Shoe Gears or Beams the rolling stock is unable to move. The Total amount is circa PS6,328,284 Spend is not committed and orders placed will be according to requirement. The justification for awarding this proposed contract is in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 Direct Award and is compliant with Section 41.6, Schedule 5, Paragraph 7 which states: The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier which are intended as an extension to, or partial replacement of, existing goods, services or works in circumstances where- (a) a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and (b )the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance.
