## Summary

The procurement process for the Nurse Call Systems Support and Maintenance at NHS Golden Jubilee was initiated by NHS Golden Jubilee, a body governed by public law engaged primarily in the health sector. The contract, which falls under the industry category of System Maintenance Services (CPV code 50324100), aims to ensure the continued support and upkeep of nurse call systems, crucial for patient safety and communication in hospital wards. The procurement stage of this contract is complete, with the award having been confirmed to Static Systems Group Ltd on 17 November 2025, for a contract value of £58,200. The maintenance services will be performed at the NHS Golden Jubilee hospital located in Clydebank, UKM81. This procurement utilised a limited method, executed as an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, to maintain the existing closed loop system provided by Static Systems.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses that specialise in system maintenance services, specifically those with expertise in healthcare communication systems. Static Systems Group Ltd, as the current awardee, illustrates the type of business that is well-equipped for such specialised contracts due to their intimate knowledge and capability in managing closed-loop systems. For businesses looking to penetrate this niche market, developing expertise in healthcare-specific systems and maintenance services, coupled with the ability to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructures, would be advantageous. Opportunities may arise for strategic partnerships or joint ventures to expand capabilities in meeting the stringent technical requirements of healthcare communication systems, further facilitating business growth in this sector.

Due to the specialist service of nurse call systems there are a small number of recognised service providers who have the resource, technical expertise and maintenance coverage that healthcare facilities require. Static systems are one of these providers and at GJ the nurse call systems are manufactured, installed and maintained by Static. Due to the technical requirements, including the need of the upgrade needing to link up to existing Static Systems Group nurse call system which is a closed loop system coupled with the local understandings of the ward areas progressing these works through Static Systems would provide seamless upgrade. GJ believes that Static System Group are the only supplier that can conduct this requirement due to the Static Systems Group Nurse Call system installed has been a closed loop Static Systems Group Nurse Call system. Therefore the best course of action to insure compliance with procurement regulations, and ensure the continued maintenance of these systems, is to publish a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice.
