## Summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is conducting an open procurement process under the Handy Persons and Adaptations Service (HPAS) Traders tender, which focuses on aiding elderly and disabled individuals to maintain safe and independent living conditions in their homes. This initiative, based in Nottingham, seeks to deploy minor adaptations and small-scale construction works, falling under the 'works' industry category, primarily involving building fittings and joinery. The procurement process, governed by the legal basis specified in legislation 2023/54, is currently in the tender stage and accepts submissions electronically until 19th December 2025. The framework agreement is set without reopening competition, assuring fixed rates decided by the Council, and aims to commence from 1st April 2026, spanning until 31st March 2028, with opportunities for renewal.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for local SMEs and VCSEs, particularly those dealing with building installation and maintenance, as well as firms specialising in accessibility enhancements for residential properties. The tender encompasses multiple lots across the Nottingham area, including Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood, and Rushcliffe, each providing contracts with potential values reaching £500,000. Businesses capable of delivering high-quality, safety-focused home adaptations and maintenance services are well-placed to thrive by fostering community well-being and reducing long-term healthcare costs. The contracts are awarded based on quality evaluation by a stakeholder panel, presenting a lucrative platform for businesses committed to excellence in home improvement services.
