## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has awarded a 6-year Framework Agreement, with an optional extension of 2 years, to Horstman Defence Systems Limited for the repair of Terrier suspension components and CR2 gas charging equipment. The agreement was finalised on 7th May 2026 and is valued at £4,300,000. Located in Telford and acting via Babcock Land Defence Limited, the Ministry's procurement falls under the 'defence and security' special regime and employs a direct award method citing Horstman Defence Systems' unique capability and proprietary data. This contract underlines the Ministry's operational readiness in line with UK military specifications, containing specific KPIs focused on delivery performance and product quality.

This contract creates significant opportunities for businesses within the defence sector, particularly those specialising in maintenance and repair services for military vehicles and components. Businesses like Horstman Defence Systems, which already have extensive technical know-how and proprietary intellectual property, are positioned to leverage such contracts for growth. Although the procurement was awarded directly due to the lack of competition, future similar opportunities could arise if additional items are added to the framework, allowing other suppliers to prepare for indirect collaborations or subcontracting opportunities, thus broadening market reach within the niche defence repair and maintenance sector.
