## Summary

The Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Authority (TWFRA) initiated a procurement process described as the "Fire Service Operational Instructor Training," which aims to enhance the skills of its fire service trainers through a series of specialised courses. The procurement, taking place in Tyne and Wear, follows an open competition method below the threshold, with processes spanning from 2025-11-25 to the contract dates in 2026-04-01. This process has reached the award stage with contracts active from 2026-03-09 to 2028-03-08, allowing for optional extensions up to 2030-03-08 for each lot. The procurement targets the fire service sector and includes courses for instructor training in compartment fire behaviour, breathing apparatus, road traffic collision, and tactical ventilation, thereby ensuring well-rounded operational response and resilience. Notably, key players in the awarded contracts include RED ONE LTD and the International Road Rescue & Trauma Consultancy.

This procurement presents notable opportunities for businesses specialising in fire service training and technical skills development. With lots awarded to RED ONE LTD and the International Road Rescue & Trauma Consultancy, this contract encourages growth for SMEs with expertise in technical and specialist training services. Businesses focusing on developing skills for emergency preparedness and operational response stand to benefit from participation in this procurement. The focus on instructor training across various categories fosters collaboration and development of best practices within the fire service industry. Eligible enterprises with a strong track record in fire rescue and training services are well-positioned to leverage this opportunity to expand their offerings and support TWFRA in maintaining high standards of community safety and operational excellence.
