## Summary

The Ministry of Justice is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Justice-wide Intermediary Services - Preliminary Market Engagement." This initiative is aimed at exploring the future provision of intermediary services within the justice sector across the United Kingdom. The procurement process is in its initial stages, with market engagement activities and no formal procurement has begun. This initiative is part of a broader strategy under the Procurement Act 2023 to enhance communication services for vulnerable witnesses and defendants. The planning documents were published on 20th May 2026, with further market engagement activities expected to continue until 31st March 2027. The total estimated budget for the project is £120 million, and the planned contract period spans from 1st April 2029 to 31st March 2035.

This opportunity offers significant potential for business growth, particularly for SMEs and third-sector entities interested in justice services. The planned services under this engagement are categorized under CPV codes for Justice Services, Law-courts-related Administrative Services, and Police Services, indicating a broad scope of work. Businesses engaging in communication services, particularly those with expertise in supporting vulnerable groups within judicial processes, stand to benefit significantly. Suppliers are encouraged to participate in various market engagement events to align their services with the objectives outlined by the Ministry of Justice. The project encourages innovative approaches to service delivery across the ministry, offering a platform for businesses to showcase their capabilities and contribute to improving justice system services.
