## Summary

The NHS Health Checks Outreach programme has been established to cater for both Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council, focusing on preventing cardiovascular diseases through early assessment and management. Milton Keynes City Council, acting as the procurement authority, has awarded the contract under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 to Bedford On Call Limited. The award was confirmed on 12th December 2025, with services to commence from 5th January 2026 until 4th January 2028. With a total contract value of £193,100, the services fall under the industry category of cardiology services and will be delivered within specified regions, UKH24 and UKH25, using a limited procurement method.

This procurement presents valuable business opportunities, particularly for SMEs in the healthcare sector. The outreach programme allows for significant community engagement, offering NHS Health Checks in community settings and workplaces. This initiative addresses healthcare inequalities and provides a viable platform for healthcare providers with strong community ties and service delivery capabilities. Businesses well-placed to benefit include those with expertise in community health services and firms capable of establishing or expanding collaborations with local GP practices, thereby supporting the wider public health infrastructure.
