## Summary

The Forestry Commission is leading the procurement process for a Wetland Restoration Framework within the South District, scheduled to run from March 2026 to February 2030. The focus of this tender is on works that involve full-scale restoration, maintenance, and repairs of wetland sites, notably in areas with special environmental designations such as SSSI, SAC, SPA, and Ramsar. This open competition, initiated on 20th March 2026, is structured as a framework agreement allowing direct awards for smaller contracts up to £30,000, and a mini-competition for larger work orders. Key dates include the enquiry period ending on 18th December 2025, and the tender submission deadline set for 9th January 2026. This procurement belongs to the excavation and earthmoving industry category, located in South England, specifically regions with postal codes BS16 1EJ and surrounding areas.

This tender provides ample opportunities for businesses specialising in ecological restoration and earthmoving procedures, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are already equipped with the necessary machinery and expertise in environmentally sensitive areas. Suppliers such as G.Farwell LTD, Practicality Brown Ltd, and Alaska Ecological Contracting LTD have already been identified and engaged in this contract, illustrating the competitive landscape for capable firms. The open competition approach ensures accessibility to firms that can demonstrate quality and precision in delivery, thereby providing a platform for growth in specialised restoration projects. The framework agreement's structure allows flexibility, opening pathways for additional contract awards through mini-competitions, which may be particularly beneficial for businesses aiming to participate in substantial projects related to environmental sustainability and wetland management.
