## Summary

The public procurement process led by Jo Richardson Community School in Dagenham, Essex, involves a catering tender valued at £3,375,000 over a three-year term starting from 1st August 2026, with a possibility of extension until 2031. The objective is to deliver high-quality catering services, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients while supporting the school's ethos and enhancing its extra-curricular offerings. Using the Competitive Flexible Procedure, the procurement follows a two-stage process, focusing 65% on quality and 35% on cost evaluations. This tender has recently moved to the award stage as of 26th May 2026, having selected Olive Dining Ltd as the supplier, with the school aiming to secure "best value" rather than the lowest bid.

This tender offers robust growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those with a minimum annual turnover of £1 million and the ability to deliver a flexible, high-standard catering service in an educational environment. Businesses specialising in school catering services, especially SMEs, will find this opportunity attractive, as it encourages innovative service proposals that align with the school’s requirements and budget constraints. The contract also supports London living wage commitments, ensuring it aligns with social value responsibilities, making it particularly appealing for businesses looking to expand their portfolio in the education sector in the United Kingdom.
