## Summary

Kent County Council has issued a contract titled "The Kent Dental Epidemiology Survey and the Kent Oral Health Promotion Programme," under the Community Health Services category. This process is part of the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, distinct from the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract, valued at £723,009, covers services throughout Kent, UKJ4 region, focused on improving oral health by conducting surveys and health promotion programmes. The procurement stage is currently in the award stage, having been updated in April 2026 after the intention to award notice published in December 2025. The contract officially commenced on 1st January 2026 and is slated to conclude by 31st December 2029.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth for entities specialising in community health or oral health services, particularly those with a focus on preventive health care. Businesses equipped to offer evidence-based health programmes and possess expertise in delivering education and community outreach services would be well-positioned to compete effectively. The contracting method prioritised direct award process, ensuring entities with robust existing frameworks and the capability to integrate with local health and educational networks are considered. Given Kent County Council's emphasis on reducing oral health inequalities, businesses that can demonstrate quality, innovation, and social value in health promotion will likely stand out in this tender process.
