## Summary

The London Borough of Sutton has recently completed the procurement for a housing support service geared towards vulnerable adults at risk of homelessness due to mental health needs, substance misuse issues, domestic abuse histories, or offending backgrounds. The procurement was carried out under the light-touch regime specified in the Procurement Act 2023, focusing on offering short-term housing support to 119 units of supported accommodation and floating support to 40 additional individuals per annum. The entire contract, valued at approximately £4.6 million, was awarded on 17 June 2026, with a contract period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030, and a possible extension for another two years. The main procurement stage concluded with the awarding of the contract to "Together for Mental Wellbeing," following an open procedure under the services category for health and social work, CPV code 85000000.

This procurement presents significant business opportunities, particularly for organizations within the health and social care sectors, including SMEs experienced in handling complex social needs. Companies offering expertise in managing supported accommodations or floating support services can benefit from participating in similar future tenders. The service aims to promote independent living and wellbeing, allowing service providers to demonstrate their capacity to contribute to societal goals of social inclusion and recovery. Additionally, organisations prioritising social value and quality will find such contracts advantageous, given the emphasis on these criteria during the tender evaluations.
