## Summary

The procurement process initiated by Transport for London (TfL) aims to implement a new Bus Contracts Management System (BCMS) under the title "Future Bus Systems 2 - Bus Contracts Management System solution." The initiative is guided by the need to replace the current BCMS, which has been in place for over two decades. The process falls under the "services" industry category, focusing on IT services like consulting and software development. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with an Industry Day planned for 13th February 2026 at Palaestra House, London, providing insights and guidance on the procurement timeline. Companies interested should register by 6th February 2026. The notice for this has been publicly communicated as of 17th May 2026, with future communications planned for August 2026.

This procurement process offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in IT services, software development, and systems configuration. It is particularly open to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), inviting participation from a variety of technology providers who can deliver modern, flexible, and efficient solutions. Businesses capable of providing a configurable system with improved user interfaces and supporting data services with modern APIs would be well-suited to compete. This opportunity not only prompts potential collaboration with TfL but also positions participants to influence the future technological landscape of public transport operations in London and beyond.

## Notice

P&C Technology ref: ICT14223 - The project was established in Autumn 2022 to explore a replacement of the current BCMS (Bus Contract Management Solution). The solution had been on the TfL estate for twenty (20) plus years. The BCMS Solution is classed as Business Critical and is responsible for all contractual payments to Bus Operators.
