## Summary

The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is undertaking a procurement process for the Marine Recovery Fund (MRF), focused on strategic compensatory measures to preserve wildlife, specifically seabird nesting spaces and predator reduction schemes on offshore islands. Currently in the planning stage, DEFRA is seeking expressions of interest from third-party delivery partners to determine market interest and the availability of needed measures. The procurement, classified under the industry category of environmental and wildlife preservation services, is set within the United Kingdom, and aims to commence on 2nd February 2026, running until 16th December 2028. Key stakeholders are encouraged to register their interest by 31st March 2026 to potentially participate in these environmental service opportunities valued at up to £5,000,000.

This tender opens avenues for businesses specialising in wildlife preservation, environmental services, and natural resources management to expand their operations. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited to compete, given the procurement requirements and goals. Engaging in this contract could enhance their portfolios and increase market presence as suppliers of essential compensatory measures in the marine ecosystem. Businesses with expertise in delivering predator reduction initiatives and developing nesting spaces would find significant growth potential through participation in DEFRA’s MRF procurement process.

## Notice
