## Summary

The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) has recently completed a procurement process for the provision of emotional and psychological support services related to the Leeds Maternity Neonatal Inquiry. The awarded contract includes support for affected families and involves counselling and guidance services. With a tender process completed through an open procedure under the "light touch" regime, the primary focus is on services, including evidence-based therapies such as EMDR and CBT, delivered across multiple UK regions. The contract, valued at £2,400,000 gross, runs from 24 June 2026, with an option to renew for up to 24 months beyond the initial 12-month term. Key dates included the standstill period ending on 19 June 2026, and the contract's maximum duration extends until 23 June 2029.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in mental health services, particularly those with expertise in managing trauma and psychological support related to maternity issues. Large organisations like People Asset Management Ltd, which secured the award, exemplify the suitability of suppliers with proven capacity in delivering comprehensive psychological services. Companies that can extend their offerings beyond basic counselling to include specialist therapies and can operate across diverse regions will likely find similar government contracts valuable for business growth, particularly in light of the adaptable nature of this contract to cover potentially forthcoming inquiries.
