## Summary

The University of Exeter is conducting a public procurement process for the collection of clinical and chemical waste, divided into three lots addressing different aspects of waste management needs. The process applies to locations in Exeter and Penryn, United Kingdom, under the industry category of refuse and waste services. Currently in the award stage, the procurement follows an open procedure, with key dates including the anticipated contract start on 2nd April 2026 and potential renewal periods extending until 2031. The tender aims to dispose hazardous waste generated across various university departments by engaging capable suppliers proficient in waste-to-energy incineration and recycling methods.

This tender represents an opportunity for businesses involved in hazardous waste management, particularly large-scale enterprises capable of efficiently handling clinical and chemical waste. Companies providing innovative disposal and recycling solutions will be well-suited, as the contract demands proficient service delivery across multiple locations and compliance with stringent quality criteria. The inclusion of renewable contract periods encourages sustained business growth, allowing suppliers to establish longstanding relationships with the University of Exeter. SMEs may also find participation viable, especially if they possess specialised technical expertise to cater to the University’s specific waste disposal requirements.
