## Summary

The NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board has recently completed a procurement process for a Community Based Admission Avoidance Service targeted at individuals with learning disabilities and autism. The contract, awarded on 18th May 2026, follows an open procedure, with tendering having closed in March 2026. The awarded service aims to deliver tailored community-based interventions, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions in the UKG13 and UKG33 regions. Voyage Care emerged as the successful supplier, securing the contract valued at over £1.5 million, starting from 1st July 2026 for an initial two-year period, with the possibility of a one-year extension. This initiative, managed by NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of the Integrated Care Board, represents a strategic investment in health and social services within Central Government, classified under administrative healthcare services (CPV code 75122000).

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work, particularly those with expertise in managing learning disabilities and autism-related challenges. The procurement process prioritised quality, with 80% weighting, providing an advantageous landscape for businesses demonstrating excellence in service delivery. Companies well-suited for participation typically offer person-centred community services with a focus on mental health and crisis intervention. Additionally, the project's structure, which allows for potential subcontracting, can further open doors for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to contribute, fostering business growth and competitive innovation in the healthcare sector.
