## Summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is overseeing a public procurement process for a Minor Illness Service under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. This contract aims to provide services for patients with minor illnesses who self-present at emergency departments across Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and St James University Hospital (SJUH). The process is in its award stage, with the intention to award a contract for services classified under "Medical practice and related services" (CPV code: 85120000). The contract duration is set from summer 2026 to summer 2028, with a procurement value of approximately £1.6 million. The procurement method utilised is an open procedure, and the contracting authority has requested that written representations be submitted by 5th May, marking the commencement of the standstill period.

This tender represents lucrative business opportunities for companies specialising in healthcare services, particularly those with experience in primary care and emergency department operations. The contract requires service delivery in two primary locations in Leeds, catering to both paediatric and adult patients, and aims to significantly divert minor illness cases from main emergency departments, thereby improving patient care efficiency. Businesses with strong capabilities in clinical management and staffing solutions, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GPs, will be well-suited to deliver these services. The procurement process has been designed to favour proposals that excel in quality, accounting for 80% of the award criteria, and price making up the remaining 20%, thus offering substantial growth potential for qualified service providers.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The Minor Illness Services are for patients who self-present to the EDs who have a minor illness presentation and are suitable to be seen by a primary care clinician.
At the LGI, the Minor Illness Service caters to both adults and paediatrics and is staffed by Advanced Clinical Practitioners, operating a see and treat service, seven days a week from 8 AM to 00.00 PM with a streaming service operating from 8 am to 9 PM. In contrast, the SJUH Minor Illness Service focuses exclusively on adults and is delivered by a GP, with operating hours from 10 AM to 10 PM.
