## Summary

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is seeking to procure taxi hire services under its current tender, titled "Taxi Hire Services," in the services industry category. This procurement is designed to secure a safe, efficient, and sustainable taxi service that meets both UK and international requirements. The contract includes a focus on cost-efficiency, safety, sustainability, user experience, and robust management information. The procurement process, initiated through a competitive flexible procedure, is in the active tender stage with an end date set for 9 February 2026, following an earlier extension. The services must be compliant with the BBC standards and regulations, and the tender offers two lots: "Ride-hail" and "Pre-Book and Specialist requirements." Interested suppliers need to participate via the BBC’s eSourcing portal.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, particularly for companies operating in the transportation and logistics sector. Both SMEs and VCSEs have suitability provisions to partake, indicating inclusivity for a broad range of business sizes. Companies with established digital capabilities for booking and tracking technology would be well-suited to compete, given the emphasis on a seamless digital user experience and real-time booking functionalities. Additionally, businesses with low-emission vehicle fleets and robust compliance records may find this procurement particularly advantageous due to the tender's alignment with the BBC’s Net Zero goals. The estimated contract value of £52.5 million, extendable up to 2032, offers substantial growth potential in terms of service provision and revenue generation.
