The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has successfully completed the procurement process for the provision of Security Guarding Services at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This procurement, under the tender ID CPG/13364/2026, was conducted using an open procedure, ensuring transparency and wide accessibility for potential suppliers. The procurement stage moved from planning, beginning with the initiation of tender on 6th January 2026, to award, concluding with the contract signing expected by 25th June 2026. Key dates included submission deadlines on 9th February 2026 and an award date by 16th March 2026. The security services, falling under the 'defenceSecurity' special regime, will be provided by Catexis SRL, a supplier from Buenos Aires, with a contract covering the period from 1st August 2026 to 31st July 2029, with options for extensions up to 2031. The contract holds a gross value of £915,513.25 for its initial term.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in security services, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with a robust presence and experience in international security guarding services. The open procurement method was favourable for SMEs, evidenced by two SME bids reaching the final stage of the process. Opportunities also exist for businesses looking to expand their operations to Argentina, as this contract creates a stable framework for service delivery over an extended period, with the possibility of performance-based extensions, ensuring long-term growth and association with a central government authority. Companies specialising in static security guarding, with the capability to meet complex security requirements, are well-suited for such high-value opportunities that promise operational continuity and growth potential.
