## Summary

The Department for Science, Innovation & Technology has completed a procurement process titled "con_9073 - Metamaterials Workshop," within the research and development services category, located in London, United Kingdom. The procurement process has reached the Award stage with a contract signed on 18th December 2025, covering a project period from 18th December 2025 to 11th June 2026. This procurement was conducted through a direct method below the threshold and without competition. The project involves organising workshops to develop a metamaterials technology roadmapping report, with a total contract value of £12,600 gross (£10,500 excluding VAT). IFM Engage Limited, a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) based in Cambridge, has been awarded the contract to carry out this initiative.

The opportunity presented by this contract is significant for businesses involved in the development and application of advanced materials, particularly metamaterials. Such workshops offer the chance for businesses to engage with strategic directions that can influence national priorities, fostering innovation and facilitating the adoption of metamaterials in key industrial applications. Companies specialising in research, development, and consultancy services, especially those with expertise in advanced materials, would be well-placed to compete in similar future tenders. Involvement in this project may aid businesses in collaborating with governmental departments and contributing to crucial industry developments, thus driving growth and expanding their market presence.
