## Summary

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, a public authority in London, recently completed an open procurement procedure for the provision of confined space management services. The contract, titled "The Provision of Confined Space Management Services (6237/26)", was initiated to ensure effective confined space rescue and management at NHS hospital sites in London. This service, involving fire-brigade and rescue operations, includes scheduled visits, emergency responses within a four-hour window, and equipment certification. The contract was awarded on 22nd June 2026, with the service delivery commencing on 1st July 2026 and extending until 30th June 2029, with potential renewals for up to two additional years.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specializing in safety and rescue services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kent and Greater London area. With a comprehensive value of £729,000, the contract primarily inducted the First Intervetion Team as the supplier. It encourages competition among businesses with strong capabilities in emergency rescue, safety equipment management, and compliance certification. Moreover, the contract's emphasis on rapid response and high service standards offers a platform for businesses to expand their expertise and market reach in health and safety consultancy services. The open procedure ensures fair competition, inviting businesses ready to meet the rigorous standards set by the NHS Foundation Trust.
