## Summary

The procurement process led by The Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London involved procuring professional architectural services for the CAT A refurbishment of 20/21 Aldermanbury, a Grade II listed office building. Located in the heart of the City of London, this project falls under the industry category of architectural design services. The tender initiated in early 2026 and concluded with the contract award to LIFSCHUTZ DAVIDSON SANDILANDS LIMITED on 1st June 2026. This competitive flexible procedure, under the Procurement Act 2023, was meticulously structured without preliminary market engagement due to the precise requirements developed internally. The project's substantial value is set at £431,215.20, extending to a completion deadline by December 2027. The procurement method was selective, ensuring a rigorous selection process matched with detailed technical and commercial evaluations.

This tender presents a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in architectural and design services, especially SMEs that exhibit technical expertise and sustainability credentials. Such projects can be a springboard for SMEs aiming to strengthen their portfolio in heritage building refurbishments, which demands precise planning and execution. Given the robust competitive procedure, businesses demonstrating technical innovation, cost-control, and superior design quality have a favourable position to excel. Engaging in such high-profile contracts can enhance business reputation, broaden professional networks, and unlock further opportunities within the public sector and specialized refurbishment domains.
