## Summary

Sir Thomas Fremantle School in Buckinghamshire commenced a procurement process for its school catering services, recently reaching the award stage with a contract offer to Stir Food Ltd on 19th June 2026. This contract, valued at £1,029,210 over a potential five-year period, starting from 1st September 2026, includes options for extending to 2031. As a public authority sub-central government entity, the school sought innovative and high-quality catering solutions as part of a Competitive Flexible Procedure. The procurement process included a two-stage approach involving a Procurement Specific Questionnaire and an Invitation To Tender focusing on criteria covering 65% quality and 35% price. The procuring entity, RIVA Partnership Ltd, assisted both stages. The process progressed efficiently, meeting deadlines such as the standstill period ending 30th June 2026.

The opportunity presents an ideal growth platform for catering businesses, particularly SMEs, looking to expand within the educational sector. Sir Thomas Fremantle School's focus on quality over the lowest bid allows businesses that emphasise fresh, locally sourced ingredients and customised menu designs a chance to stand out. The school's emphasis on a 'family ethos' and a tightly managed yet supportive catering environment aligns well with businesses that value partnership and are ready to propose innovative solutions and enhancements to the existing services. Businesses that are keen to deliver best value and develop their service offering in line with the school's expectations will find this contract especially advantageous for long-term growth.
