## Summary

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process concerning the Security Operations Centres (SOC). This initiative aims to enhance its Information Services department's capacity to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber-security incidents via a managed 24x7x365 service. The organisation is seeking to commence the procurement process in early 2026, with the current contract ending in September 2026, covering services under the IT category. Businesses are invited to submit a Request for Information by 19th February 2026, with the procurement aiming to map out potential suppliers and define the precise procurement strategy, such as whether it will follow a framework or another route.

This tender presents opportunities for growth for IT service providers, particularly those specialising in cyber-security and managed services. Companies that can offer comprehensive SOC solutions, including consulting, software development, and support, will find this opportunity beneficial. The procurement exercise encourages suppliers to engage and assist TfGM in shaping the final service specification, fostering beneficial partnerships between the public sector and businesses well-versed in IT security infrastructure. Such collaboration will potentially result in increased contracts and access to the public sector market.

## Notice

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), is issuing this notice to engage with the market to find and to contact, specialist suppliers in the area of Security Operations Centres (SOC). The current contract that TfGM has for providing this service is due to end in September 2026 and TfGM are looking to start the process of procuring a new contract now. TfGM has an in-house Information Services (IS) department that provides IT services to TfGM employees and the travelling public. The IS department is responsible for the security of the services it provides and is seeking a supplier to enhance its ability to detect, respond and recover from cyber-security incidents through a managed 24x7x365 Security Operations Centre Capability. TfGM is therefore looking at running a procurement exercise, starting as soon as is practicable in 2026, for a supplier to provide this service. It is not known at this time what the procurement strategy will be (framework or other route) and it is the intention of this exercise to not only find out who can supply this service but also to get assistance with what will be included in the final specification and the best method of interacting with the suppliers / market.

### Planning Information

TfGM are seeking to understand what is currently available in the market in this area and gain advice re its procurement strategy.
TfGM are therefore inviting suitable suppliers to respond to an RfI (Request for Information) document.
TfGM do not guarantee that this exercise will result in a procurement exercise.
If your organisation can provide a solution that meets the requirements of this notice, please email procurement@tfgm.com with 'TfGM SOC 2026' in the
subject field and the RfI document will then be shared with you.
