The procurement falls under the services category and pertains to data analysis within the environmental sector. The process reached the award stage and has been completed, with the contract commencing on 29th January 2026 and concluding on 31st March 2026. The contract, valued at £50,784, was awarded to The University of the West Indies in Jamaica, indicating a direct procurement method "below threshold - without competition." The project will focus on monitoring water quality and managing pollution in Jamaica, with deliverables expected by November 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in environmental monitoring and data analysis. Those specialising in water quality assessment, marine pollution analysis, and environmental training could thrive under this contract. It is particularly suitable for organisations with experience in conducting large-scale environmental studies and those capable of fostering multinational and multicultural collaborations. Additionally, companies offering fieldwork equipment and laboratory services for water quality analysis could benefit from subcontracting opportunities. The involvement in such international projects can lead to expanded recognition and form critical alliances, which are conducive to business growth.
