## Summary

The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority is actively seeking bids for the procurement of between 5 and 7 powerboat engines, to replace and upgrade their existing fleet used in water rescue operations. This opportunity falls under the marine equipment industry category and is located in Bradford, United Kingdom. The procurement is currently in the tender update stage, with key deadlines including an enquiry period ending on 6th July 2026 and a tender submission deadline of 27th July 2026. The procurement method employed is open competition, aimed at subsector public authorities, and the total estimated contract value is approximately £45,000 including VAT. The contract is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2026 and potentially extend until 30th September 2030, subject to renewal options.

This procurement offers significant potential for business expansion, particularly for companies specialising in manufacturing and servicing marine equipment. The requirement for ongoing engine maintenance and training provision implies an enduring partnership beyond the initial engine supply. Consequently, businesses that can provide both high-quality engines and supplementary services such as routine maintenance and training to internal staff will find this tender particularly advantageous. This open competition approach allows businesses to showcase their capabilities in delivering high-standard equipment compliant with UK Fire & Rescue Service's performance standards, which can enhance their reputation and foster future opportunities with public authorities.

## Notice

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is seeking to procure between 5 and 7 powerboat engines compatible with our existing water rescue vessels. As part of the procurement, WYFRS will also require the successful supplier to provide ongoing engine maintenance through an annual service contract and/or deliver training to internal personnel to enable them to undertake minor repairs and routine maintenance activities. The replacement engines must deliver a comparable level of performance to that required for MOD4 capabilities, aligned with the UK Fire & Rescue Service's Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator standards.
