## Summary

The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) has initiated a procurement process in the planning stage, seeking to expand its digital portfolio under the title "RFI - Casual Gaming for Daily Engagement". The focus is on the entertainment services industry, aiming to develop casual gaming experiences that enhance daily audience engagement. Based in London, United Kingdom, the BBC’s planned engagement activities, including submission deadlines set for 14:00 on 24 February 2026, suggest an organised approach to determining market capabilities and readiness. The tender's delivery period is scheduled to commence on 2 September 2026 and conclude on 1 February 2030, highlighting a long-term commitment to this initiative.

This procurement opportunity is geared towards businesses, particularly SMEs, capable of providing bespoke or white-label casual games that incorporate social features and align with BBC values. By participating in this tender, businesses can position themselves within a high-profile, public sector project, potentially leading to contracts and new growth avenues. Suppliers with strong capabilities in entertainment service offerings, especially those specialising in engaging digital gaming experiences, stand to gain significantly from aligning with the BBC’s vision for culturally relevant and inclusive games that encourage repeat user engagement.

## Notice

The BBC is exploring opportunities to expand its digital portfolio by introducing casual gaming offers for adults that encourage positive daily engagement. These games will offer quick, enjoyable, daily rituals, designed to fit seamlessly into everyday routines. Our ambition is to provide a suite of daily puzzle and casual games that reflect BBC values, are culturally relevant, and foster inclusive, fair play. We want these experiences to be simple to learn yet rewarding, with the potential to evolve over time to include optional social features such as personal progress tracking, streaks, and leaderboards to deepen audience engagement and encourage repeat visits. The BBC would welcome responses to this RFI in order to inform our development of specification and the approach to any potential procurement exercise. Responding to this RFI will allow the BBC to build an understanding of: - the marketplace, both; supplier capabilities to create bespoke casual or puzzle-based games; and White-Label casual or puzzle-based games - indicative costs and timescales - any barriers to implementation of the production/solution - future readiness and roadmaps in this space
