The process involved the purchase of Plastic Polyethylene (PE) food waste caddy liners, divided into two lots, with a delivery timeline of no later than 4 weeks for Lot 1 and 18 weeks for Lot 2 from the first order date. This contract, complete as of 20th May 2026, falls under the industry category of recycling equipment and waste-related services, and delivery is expected within the region of Swansea, UK. The procurement, focusing on goods, was managed under the legal framework set by the UKPGA 2023/54 and adhered to Welsh devolved regulations.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for SMEs, particularly those specialising in recyclable materials and waste management solutions, to showcase their capabilities in an expanding sector. With a focus on quality and price, the procurement encourages competitive offerings from businesses that can deliver high-quality products with substantial recycled content. The requirement for operational testing of samples also promotes engagement with companies capable of ensuring product reliability and innovation, crucial for meeting the council’s sustainability goals. Such an initiative not only supports the local economy but also stimulates growth for participating businesses by potentially providing long-term contract opportunities.
