## Summary

Workington Town Council is currently at the tender stage of procuring refurbishment works for its Princess Street Offices. The council has issued an open competition tender seeking qualified and experienced contractors to carry out the refurbishment, which includes structural works, doors and access installations, roofing, internal finishes, and mechanical and electrical upgrades. Based in Workington, United Kingdom, this procurement is part of the "works" category and has a tender submission deadline of 2nd March 2026, with the enquiry period ending on 27th February 2026. The contract is set to begin on 23rd March 2026 and end on 1st August 2026, offering a contract value estimated at £70,000 with a gross amount of £91,000.

This opportunity presents significant potential for business growth, particularly for contractors specialising in refurbishment, construction, or building services. The procurement method is designed for competition below the threshold, which encourages participation from small and medium-sized enterprises, who may find themselves well-suited for this contract. Businesses offering high-quality service delivery, compliance with health and safety standards, and strong environmental practices will particularly stand out, given these are key award criteria alongside pricing and social value commitments. With a focus on minimising disruption and maintaining high standards, contractors capable of delivering efficient workmanship in compliance with UK building regulations are encouraged to apply.
