## Summary

The Met Office in Exeter has recently completed a public procurement process titled "Biosecurity - University of Exeter". The focus of this procurement is within the services industry category, specifically targeting research and development design and execution to enhance pest risk analyses for Defra. The procurement method was direct and conducted below the competitive threshold, beginning on 5th August 2025 and scheduled for completion by 30th March 2026, with potential for a one-year extension. This project aims to integrate climate monitoring with risk management for plant pests and pathogens across the UK, supporting government biosecurity strategies. Located in Exeter, this project capitalises on the growing need for advanced climate and pest risk tools.

Engaging with this contract can enhance business reputations and open further opportunities within governmental procurement channels.
