## Summary

Central Bedfordshire Council has recently awarded a contract for 'CBC-1919-T-TS Aids and Adaptation Construction Works at four dwellings' to Modplan. This project, under the industry category of construction works for houses and residential accommodations, involves adaptive construction works at multiple dwellings in the UKH region, United Kingdom. The procurement process culminated in an active award on 4 May 2026, with the contract period scheduled to begin on 1 June 2026. The tender utilised an open procurement method, specifically below threshold open competition, with a gross contract value of GBP 441,398.82. This award follows a rigorous open competition tender stage, initially announced in February 2026, seeking submissions by 3 March 2026.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in construction and housing adaptations, particularly those with the capacity and expertise to manage large-scale projects within tight timelines. Companies involved in the development of residential accommodations can find growth potential in partnering with public authorities such as Central Bedfordshire Council. Given the project's scope and the requirement for high-quality construction work, firms that focus on tailored building solutions will be well-positioned to pursue similar future opportunities. Additionally, the emphasis on a fair and transparent competition, where small to medium enterprises submitted multiple bids, suggests a receptiveness to diverse business participation in upcoming public procurement exercises.
